Until every veteran has an ID...

Dear Friends,

As homelessness has sadly increased across the country, so have "sweeps" of street encampments, where police officers and sanitation workers throw away people's belongings and force them to disperse. Those belongings often include vital documents and IDs. 



This particular scene is from NYC but it plays out identically everywhere. How does a voucher help someone if their ID ends up in a trash compactor?

This is a glaring example of why we need sensible, humane ID policy at all levels. We must make it easier for people to obtain, maintain, and replace their IDs. #FreeIDsForVets is just the beginning.
