John,

As the New Pennsylvania Project’s director of development and policy, I have had to learn a new skill set: cybersecurity. Right now, our organization is at high risk of being doxxed and put in danger solely because of our mission – expanding the electorate to ensure often-neglected communities of color, immigrant communities, and the youth are included in our democracy and heard at the polls.

It’s a scary time right now for an organization like ours. 2022 is a critical year for Pennsylvania, but there are special interest groups who are not in line with our values and want to disrupt our work. Not only do organizations like ours have a target on our backs, but sometimes so do the foundations and funders who support us. They are being scrutinized by the same special interest groups. This can tighten the money that those funders distribute. Because of that, we are relying on you.

In the past few years, turnout for voters of color has been at its highest point— showing up to the polls against all odds and all barriers. We deserve free and fair elections that make it easier – not harder – for Black, brown, and young voters to cast their ballots.

Now more than ever, we rely on grassroots support like yours because of the current climate we are in. So, John, will you please give $10 today to show your support for our mission to expand Pennsylvania’s electorate?

Thank you for fighting back,

The New Pennsylvania Project

-------------------------------------------------------

The New Pennsylvania Project was founded in May 2021 to expand Pennsylvania’s electorate, so it reflects the Commonwealth’s demographically changing population. In the next four years, NPP will engage and empower young residents and those living in under-represented communities of color and immigrant communities. We will register them to vote, provide education about the issues that matter in their neighborhoods, and mobilize people to vote in every election.
