John -- America’s infrastructure is crumbling. From dams to roadways to bridges and water treatment facilities, not enough is being invested to maintain critical public infrastructure. This is putting lives in danger.

Brand New Congress’ 21st Century Bill of Rights states: “All individuals and communities have the right to modern, clean, safe, and sustainable public infrastructure.”

According to the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), America’s infrastructure has a D+ score in its 2017 report card. This rating measures aviation, bridges, dams, drinking water, energy, parks, schools, roads, transit, etc. Almost all of the categories have a C-grade or below, and it’s not getting better.

In order to have a strong functioning society and economy we need:

Clean and updated water management systems
Updates to roadways, highways, bridges and public transportation in metropolitan and rural communities
Broadband accessibility in “dry” zones across the country for education and economic growth
Access to modern technologies to promote safety, commerce and accessibility to information
Net Neutrality must be guaranteed for all communities across the country
An infrastructure built on the fundamentals of the Green New Deal that actively combats the impacts of climate change NOW
Promotions of community gardens and agriculture that combats food deserts
Housing for all as a human right
Transitions from fossil fuels to a clean energy economy to a net-zero carbon economy in 10 years
Investments in public parks, educational institutions, libraries, and community centers

To address these issues and others, we need a Congress that understands the urgency of our infrastructure crisis. Currently, the cost of addressing our crumbling infrastructure is estimated at over $4 trillion, and that figure will only increase as we kick the can down the road.

With corrupt politicians and corporations seizing control of our everyday lives, now more than ever, we must stand up and fight for our rights. Together, we can elect a Brand New Congress to represent our voices and concerns and work to ensure we have a clean, safe and sustainable infrastructure in all facets of our lives.

Will you contribute $10 today to ensure a future where our voices are represented?
