We need your help to send a wave of overwhelming support for her confirmation right now:
Should the Senate confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court?

John: Right now, the majority on the Supreme Court would rather protect the NRA than the American people. But, the Senate has a chance to add a gun violence prevention champion to the bench and make history – in more ways than one.
As Senator Cory Booker said during Justice Jackson’s confirmation hearing, she is “so much more than [her] race and gender.” And she is. Our newest Justice is eminently capable, with unassailable credentials, and self-evident good character. I have no doubt that she will not only be an asset to the Supreme Court, but also, to the country that it purports to serve.
I cannot help but reflect on the enormity of this moment. In a nation where racism and sexism conspire to uphold the status quo, Black women doubly suffer the consequences. As a Black woman attorney here at Brady, I see how racism and sexism combine such that Black women suffer disproportionate injury, death, and trauma from gun homicide, while ensuring that white men have disproportionate power to craft, and in many cases obstruct, gun violence prevention policy.
These white men came after Judge Jackson during her confirmation hearings, determined to keep her off the bench. Desperate to maintain the court's pro-gun majority, Mitch McConnell and the NRA will continue to use their dirty tricks to stack the Supreme Court in their favor, it's why this chance to confirm an extremely qualified justice who isn't a puppet of the gun industry is so critical.
That's why I'm asking gun safety advocates like you to join Brady in calling for Judge Jackson's confirmation by responding to our LIVE poll right now – we only have hours left and we're counting on your response right now, John:

For decades, thousands of Black mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and sisters have advocated for gun laws around the country, only to see those laws vulnerable to the whims of a majority white and male Supreme Court. If the United States is to be the representative democracy it claims to be, we need representation at all levels of government, including the Supreme Court. Justice Jackson is so much more than her race and gender, and, since Black women are not a monolith, she does not, nor could she, speak for all Black women. But what she can do, and what her record shows she will do, is bring excellence and a much-needed perspective to the highest court in the land.
