John —
Last month, we celebrated twelve years since President Obama and the Democratic legislature enacted the Affordable Care Act, successfully expanding access to affordable, high quality health insurance to millions of Americans across the country.
After seeing the monumental impact that ACA has had on New Yorkers and Americans alike, I believe that we absolutely must continue working to strengthen and expand on this historic legislation.
John, if you agree that it’s beyond time we ensure affordable prescription medication and access to life-saving healthcare procedures for all, add your name to my petition>>
In NY-12 specifically, the ACA has banned insurance companies from discriminating against individuals with pre-existing conditions and protected 314,800 non-elderly residents from being denied coverage over circumstances out of their control.
Despite the ACA bringing monumental progress toward healthcare equity, Republican legislators continue to threaten to repeal it. This would tragically strip away health insurance from our residents who need it the most. I wholeheartedly stand against any opposition to ACA, and believe that we must further ensure universal healthcare coverage for all Americans.
As Chairwoman of the House Oversight Committee, I’m leading the charge to explore how we can make healthcare a right for all Americans, but I need you to stand with me and show your support for universal healthcare coverage.
Sign on if you’re with me in calling for comprehensive, life-saving expansions to the Affordable Care Act:
Thank you for your support of the ACA,
Carolyn
