We knew there was a long list of potential opponents being recruited to run against Mayor Lightfoot, but we now have a new name officially in the race for Chicago Mayor.

An Alderman on the Chicago City Council, this new candidate has a brazen history of slandering Chicago on Fox News. Instead of pressing for solutions for our great city, this opponent has invested in self-promotion by appearing on shows like Fox's Tucker Carlson Tonight where he's repeatedly disparaged Chicago on national television. MEANWHILE, he has voted against policies that would improve and reform our great city. 

This is NOT the kind of leader Chicagoans need or deserve.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot, on the other hand, is PROUD to fight for solutions that foster accountability, healing, and safety. Over the last three years, she has worked hard to successfully raise the minimum wage, protect our students and put the city back on strong financial footing. We cannot let someone like this undo all of our hard-fought progress.
