Gas Prices: Policy Gimmicks Are No Solution <[link removed]> - In the wake of a sharp
increase in gas prices, some legislators are proposing policy gimmicks such as a federal gas tax “holiday,” applying a “windfall profit” tax on energy producers and sending federal checks to households. None of these approaches would address the root causes of gas price increases, and each would have counterproductive effects for the economy, including driving inflation even higher. Rather than the tired approach of having the federal government pick winners and losers, legislators and the Biden Administration should instead utilize regulatory reforms and permitting to allow an increase in domestic production. This would affect the global oil market by changing expectations about future supply and demand, helping energy producers and consumers alike. Immigration Experts Back Lawmaker in Decrying Biden’s ‘Reckless’ Plan for
Border <[link removed]> – A lawmaker from a border state got support from former immigration enforcement officials Tuesday in assailing President Joe Biden’s border security policies, calling them “reckless” and far from “humane.” Their
remarks came at a press conference called to respond to the Biden administration’s decision to revoke Title 42, a policy that allows U.S. officials to better control immigration amid the spread of communicable diseases such as COVID-19. Biden's subpar national security team is a real threat to America <[link removed]> –
More than a year after taking office, Biden boasts a national gender strategy, but still no national security strategy. The lack of strategic vision is particularly troubling right now. How is the U.S. going to lead after this war to ensure that Putin never troubles us again? The Russian president remains a military threat and still has energy as a weapon of
blackmail, coercion, profit and influence. Biden doesn't have a long-term response for either. We need strengthened conventional and strategic deterrence and energy independence. Biden has offered Band-aids and wishful hopes. Heritage Expert: James Carafano <[link removed]>

Federal Student Loan Payments Won’t Resume Until At Least September <[link removed]> - Perpetual extensions are Biden’s way of squaring the circle on forgiveness. The radical left is kept at bay because students aren’t paying on their loans, without Biden incurring the political costs of student loan debt forgiveness—namely, that taxpayers would be on the hook for those loan balances. Taxpayers are, however, silently incurring the $5 billion in interest costs each month that the moratorium is in place. On inflation, there is a direct link. Borrowing creates money, which puts upward pressure on prices, while repaying debt extinguishes money, which puts downward pressure on prices. Resuming student loan payments would directly decrease the money supply and help fight inflation. Heritage Experts: EJ Antoni <[link removed]> and Jonathan

Woke Disney Hates America. It Wasn’t Always This Way <[link removed]> – When the world was at stake, and America needed to do what was right, big business sacrificed for the good of the country. It’s hard to imagine that happening today. But just because the radical left currently holds a monopoly on the corporate psyche doesn’t mean we can’t return to a time where American companies had a sense of civic virtue and duty. There is a place for business in the American cultural landscape, and corporations can play a role in encouraging love of country. In the past, there was a sense of pride in being an American company, that being based here meant you were blessed and had a duty to project and protect American values of freedom and liberty across the globe.  Disney themselves used to understand
this. Heritage Expert: Douglas Blair <[link removed]>
Cancel Culture Is Helping Marxists Achieve Their Revolution in the West Without the
Bloodshed <[link removed]> – Cancel culture is sometimes mistaken as the central problem in the life of the West. This happens, I have noticed, more among our U.K. cousins than stateside. Cancel culture, however, is merely a tool, the enforcement mechanism with which the woke left retains the cultural territory it has conquered. The central problem facing citizens of Western countries is that a very hardcore, Marxian left has scored significant victories in its steady march toward the takeover of cultural institutions. This is a strategy first thought up by an Italian, Antonio Gramsci, who co-founded Italy’s Communist Party in 1921. Heritage Expert: Mike Gonzalez <[link removed]>
