Stand for Freedom $150,000 Challenge Match

Dear John,

No matter who you are, the events of the last two years have been difficult, both to witness and to navigate. Globally, the ongoing effects of the pandemic and now Russia's war on Ukraine are wreaking havoc with economies.

With a president who claims a desire to bring unity--but only deepens tensions with his rhetoric and policies--our nation feels more divided than ever before.

When referencing COVID-19 policies, former President Trump often said "the cure can't be worse than the disease." But since Joe Biden assumed the presidency, Americans have been forced to swallow mandates supposedly prescribed to end the pandemic but instead deliver ever-deepening financial, social, educational, emotional, and mental health fallout.

Pandemic policies have gutted American businesses, threatened religious liberty, and hurt the very people they claim to protect. That's why FRC is pushing back!

As the government overreach began, our experts have cut through the noise of the mainstream media to keep engaged Americans educated on what's really going on and provided resources to pastors and concerned Christians to stand for our God-given rights.

When you partner with FRC today you'll multiply your impact--thanks to the $150,000 Challenge Match--and help get resources to like-minded believers standing for freedom in communities all across America!

Stand for Freedom

Among the policies that have proven ineffective at best...and malicious at worst...are the forced closure of churches and other vital mediating institutions in our society--places where people can get real help for physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

These misguided closures resulted in some of the worst consequences, but they can be nearly impossible to measure. Nevertheless, the effects on vulnerable populations--children, the elderly, the homeless, the mentally ill, etc.--are real and unconscionable.

And now, two years after "coronavirus" became a household name, some officials just can't let go of the level of power to which they've become accustomed.

Despite plenty of scientific evidence showing that many of the COVID-19 lockdowns and mandates were only slightly effective (at best), some of the wannabe tyrants making decisions that affect our day-to-day lives refuse to bring them to an end.

The reality is Americans are now nearly universally immune to COVID, either from vaccines or previous infection. Daily case rates have dropped under four percent off the Omicron peak. Most state restrictions have been lifted.

But as the pandemic emergency has waned, the federal airline mask mandate continues to stick out like a sore thumb. In most of the country, you'd think travelers were only vulnerable to COVID-19 in airports and airplanes!

The federal mandate should have ended too, but it didn't.

Instead of expiring on March 18, President Biden extended the airline/transit mask mandate "at least until April 18th" without an explanation or a guarantee it won't be extended again.

According to a survey of epidemiologists, airplanes are one of the safest places in terms of COVID-19 transmission, "safer than bars, theaters, gyms, and restaurants." Studies also show the most commonly worn masks are actually ineffective at stopping transmission of the virus.

In the absence of a good explanation, it seems the federal mandate targeting airplanes has less to do with risk assessment than with compliance assessment.

While some government officials imposed mandates to make people feel safe, it's obvious others simply wanted control. Now that the pandemic is effectively over (even the airlines are pleading to end the mask mandate), it's clear who the holdouts are.

Government overreach has spiraled out of control during the COVID-19 pandemic. But FRC is your voice in Washington and throughout the heartland defending your constitutional rights. Will you prayerfully consider partnering with us today to accelerate our work on behalf of your family?

Stand for Freedom

It's been said that "tyranny anywhere is a threat to freedom everywhere." When Ukraine's President Zelenskyy spoke to Congress in March, he appealed directly to President Biden, calling on him to show himself the leader of the free world. Is freedom still one of our nation's chief values?

The reality is, when free people don't defend their rights, they lose them. History proves it, and this COVID-19 crisis has revealed we're at risk of finding ourselves with less and less freedoms to defend if we're not vigilant.

It might feel like there's nothing we can do. After all, they're in charge.

But thanks to the wisdom of our founders, we don't live in a dictatorship. The men who drafted our founding documents would be dismayed to see what has become of our nation today, and would want nothing more than for freedom-loving people to point to the law and say, "no further." We have every right to make our voices heard.

FRC experts are constantly examining policy, developing resources for legislators and for you, outlining your rights that are guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution. The more we know about how our laws work, the better we can defend against government overreach.

That's why two weeks ago Family Research Council's legislative affiliate, FRC Action, filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration's airplane mask mandate.

By showing the mandate to be "arbitrary and capricious," it's FRC Action's goal to demonstrate how it violates the Administrative Procedure Act. FRC Action believes they can make a compelling case for an immediate end to this nonsensical policy that has no basis in truth.

There is a growing movement across America to restrain the government's outrageous overreach. Last week, 21 states also filed a suit in Florida asking a U.S. judge to halt the mask mandate.

Wherever the mandates end in this pandemic is where Leftists will start in the next major crisis. FRC Action's goal with their lawsuit is to ensure the mask mandate cannot be reinstated in the future at a whim by anyone that wants to exercise control over the American people.

Like our affiliate, FRC exists to engage and equip people like you to stand for freedom and truth. But we can't do this work without you. Will you partner with us today?

Stand for Freedom

Every day, whether it's in the form of bad policy and educational standards or social trends and mainstream media agendas, we encounter falsehood in one form or another. Scripture tells us that our enemy is the father of lies, and that he uses them to great effect. But as believers, we know that the Truth brings freedom (John 8:31-32).

Our nation is in desperate need of the Truth. But research has revealed that only six percent of American adults have a biblical worldview. It's clear both the nation and even the church is in desperate need of renewed zeal for the Word of God and the ability to think biblically about the issues of our day.

That's why FRC has made a priority out of developing resources, such as our Stand on the Word two-year Bible reading plan to deepen your faith and other publications that break down a biblical understanding of today's most debated issues.

We must disciple American believers to build a firm foundation in Truth so that they will be able to stand up to falsehood in its many forms!

FRC is committed to standing firmly for biblical values, engaging in the fight for freedom through our work with policymakers and the mobilization of men and women like you.

Please don't miss this opportunity to double your impact for our shared values through the $150,000 Challenge Match. And together, let's do what we can, with what we have, to preserve what we've been entrusted with, for the good of this free nation.

When we are faced with lies, stand for truth. When we are faced with tyranny, stand for freedom. Thank you for joining us today!
