Good evening,

This Mother’s Day is a special one, as many are finally able to celebrate together after a difficult couple of years. To share some of that joy, we are asking you to show a mum in need that you care.

Sadly many mums are forced to choose food and bills over basic toiletries for themselves. Our #MakeAMothersDay campaign [[link removed]] is a wonderful opportunity to show another mum that they are loved and deserve the essentials that so many take for granted each day.

To Make a Mother's Day, there are a number of ways you can participate:

Make a financial donation.

$50 will support a mum who might be affected by violence, family breakdown, at risk of homelessness, or living in poverty. Donate Now [[link removed]]

Make up a gift bag of women’s toiletries.

Choose a lovely toiletry bag and fill it with everything you would need if you had nothing. Some ideas include toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, hair ties, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, tampons/pads, sunscreen, body and face moisturiser, cleanser, tissues, or deodorant. Include a note for a mum to let her know you care. Take a photo of your gift pack and post it on social media using the hashtag #makeamothersdayDrop off at Geelong Mums (110 Balliang St, South Geelong VIC 3220) between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday (until 28 April) or post it to us. Organise a fundraising event.

Get together with your friends and family and fundraise or collect donations on the day. Email us [mailto:[email protected]] today with your ideas.

We recently supported a mother and child who were dealing with complex issues in mum's life, including poor mental health, low self confidence and social isolation. Due to these complications, the mum and young child were hiding away from the outside world, living on the bare minimum. Wanting to create a better life for her child, this brave mum reached out for help. Thanks to your donations, we were able to provide clean and good quality clothing and shoes for this child, as well as formula, bottles and a pram. This mum now takes her child down the street and to the park on a daily basis. She is proud, she is confident. But most importantly, this child is now experiencing childhood and has the chance to thrive.

Please support our “Make a Mother’s Day” appeal today so we can help more mums like this one. I promise that your generosity will brighten up another mum’s life this May.

If you have any queries, please respond to this email and we'll be happy to help.

Warm regards,

Ruth
