Hello –
My name is Matt Pries. For over 15 years, my family and I have lived in Grimes, where we are active in the community, school, and our church. I am running to represent District 23 in the Iowa State Senate, and I’m writing today to ask if you will support my campaign with a contribution of $5 or whatever you can spare.

I have been an educator for almost 30 years; I currently serve as a teacher and service group advisor at Waukee High School. I’m an assistant girls track and field coach at Waukee Northwest and am the boys cross country coach at Dallas Center-Grimes. Outside of school, I am active in our church in many ways, including leading children’s music and Vacation Bible School. Additionally, I lead a youth running camp each summer with Grimes Parks and Recreation, and assist as an announcer and emcee for various school events.

I share that as part of an introduction of who I am because I want you to know I believe in the importance of answering a call to serve others as well as working together to improve the lives of those around us. I am running for the Iowa State Senate because I want to help make our state a happier, healthier place for everyone.
Let’s set partisan politics aside and help the families, students, and small businesses of Iowa. I am excited to answer the call to run for the Iowa Senate; I will be a voice and advocate for education, mental health services, sustainability practices, and more.
