John,
Soon, the Senate will be voting to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court.
If confirmed, Judge Jackson will be the first Black female justice appointed to the highest court in the land. Not only that — Judge Jackson's confirmation would also fulfill President Biden's promise to appoint an eminently qualified Black woman to the Supreme Court.
Throughout the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings, Judge Jackson has proven she is more than qualified to succeed Justice Stephen Breyer on the Court. I fully support her confirmation. Representation is essential, John; if our democracy is going to work for the people, it's crucial we have people who look like us serving our nation.
I know Black girls and boys are watching and learning from Judge Jackson's leadership. For them, and for America's future, we need to stay united to confirm this historic nominee to the Supreme Court. Will you add your name to let me know you support Judge Jackson's confirmation?
Republicans have spent years stacking the Supreme Court, which means Judge Jackson's confirmation could determine the future of reproductive justice, voting rights, and more. We can't miss this opportunity, which is why I hope I can count on your signature.
In solidarity,
Dwight
