It’s been a busy week in Washington.
President Biden has extended the pause on student loan payments, we’re getting ready to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, and you’ve helped make it all happen as a member of this team. Thank you for being in this fight.
But I’ve also got one eye on this year’s midterms elections. Things are heating up: Texas already had their first round of voting, and four candidates we endorsed either won their primaries outright or made it to the runoff — woo-hoo Greg Casar, Jessica Cisneros, Jasmine Crockett, and Michelle Vallejo! And more elections are coming right up.
I’m getting ready to endorse more Democrats who are in this fight to put power in the hands of working people. But first, I want to hear from you.
What are the top issues on your mind right now, and what do you want candidates to focus on this year? Fill in this quick survey to let me know — it should only take a couple of minutes, and it will go a long way to shape our work together for 2022.
By protecting and expanding our razor-thin Democratic majorities in the House and Senate, we can accomplish a whole lot more in Congress — including bypassing the Senate filibuster to defend the right to vote and the right to have that vote counted.
And by electing strong progressive champions at the state and local level, we can drive progress on so many policy issues that touch people’s daily lives — like the schools they send their kids to, and the doctors they’re able to see.
We can also fight back against the extreme right-wing assault on Constitutional freedoms in state houses across the country — from abortion rights to LGBTQ+ equality to voting rights.
I’m fired up — and I want to know what you’re fired up about, too.
Please take a moment to fill in this survey. Your responses will help inform our work together in this powerfully important election year.
Thanks for being a part of this,
Elizabeth
