In February, Governor Abbott issued a letter to Texas state health agencies announcing that delivering gender-affirming medical treatment to transgender kids “constitutes child abuse” under state law. He said that doctors, nurses, and teachers would be legally obligated to report parents who aided their children in receiving such care to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

This was just the latest in our state’s shameful attack on transgender kids and their families. Attacks like these are unacceptable and un-American, and as a former civil rights attorney, Colin is committed to doing all he can to stop this discrimination in Texas.

Texas should be a state where all kids can be themselves without fear of discrimination or harassment.
