Check out the insurance reform bills that Gov. Edwards is supporting:
- HB 317 - would require that a form be signed by the insured before any agreement changing the amount of any deductible can move forward.
- HB 316 - would require that insurance companies provide information and documentation about a homeowner’s claim in a timely manner.
- HB 692 - would create a Louisiana Named Storm Insurance Fraud Prevention Authority.
- HB 682 - creates an adjuster registry to help policyholders confirm that their insurance company has sent them a qualified adjuster.
- HB 805 - creates regulations for how a mortgage company disburses insurance checks to a homeowner.
To quote Gov. Edwards', "I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – after a natural disaster, it's unacceptable that many Louisianans are more scared of their insurance companies than the storm itself.”
Chip in just $25 today to help ensure that Gov. Edwards can help put an end to insurance purgatory in Louisiana.
