I joined local leaders in a bipartisan matter to deliver a significant victory for rural healthcare in Colorado. Working with Colorado State Rep. Matt Soper and other local stakeholders, we secured Sole Community Hospital Provider Status for Delta Health. This status change will secure more resources for Delta Health, reduce drug prices, and improve access to healthcare for rural Coloradans.

Calling all high school artists! My office is currently accepting submissions for the 2022 Congressional Art Competition. The winner’s artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year. Colorado has some of the most talented student artists in the country, and I look forward to showcasing their work.
Submissions are due on April 27, and winners will be announced in early May. If you have or know of a high school student interested in participating in the Congressional Art Competition, please visit my website for more details!

Emma Weyant was the fastest woman competing in the 2022 NCAA Division I Women’s 500-Yard Freestyle, but her first-place trophy was stolen by a mediocre male athlete who couldn’t cut it in men’s swimming. He used to rank 554th when he competed in men’s swimming, but now that he competes against women, he is suddenly the best.
This is unfair.
I introduced a House resolution honoring Emma Weyant as the rightful winner. Emma is a world-class student-athlete whose athletic achievements speak for themselves, including winning a Silver Medal at the Tokyo Summer Olympics and being named a four-time high school All-American, a four-time Scholar-Athlete, and a Scholastic All-American. Her dedication is an inspiration to women across the country, and her coach described her as “driven, goal-oriented and very thorough, hard-working, processed, focused and resilient.”
The honor and recognition Emma deserved was taken from her, and I am proud to lead 22 Members of Congress in recognizing her victory.

Salt cedars and Russian olive trees are invasive species that are plaguing Colorado by degrading our environment, wasting precious water resources, and causing big game to leave their habitats. These invasive plants can consume up to 200 gallons of water per day per tree, further exacerbating our drought crisis. I am taking action to address this serious problem, and I sent a letter of support for Montezuma County’s grant application for more resources to combat noxious weeds that waste water.
I also recently had a meeting with approximately 30 environmental, hydrology, and noxious weeds experts from southwest Colorado where we discussed effective strategies to manage water resources, restore native habitats, and preserve Colorado’s unique ecology. Finally, I discussed my plan to file an appropriations request for federal resources to manage salt cedars and Russian olive trees and encourage cooperation among federal agencies to support rural communities.

As a Member of the House Budget Committee, I had the opportunity to question Biden’s budget bureaucrat responsible for drafting his budget proposal that will spend $73 trillion over the next decade. This terrible proposal would lead to $58 trillion in new taxes and cause our national debt to reach $45 trillion in ten years. This disastrous budget also provides $400 million to Planned Parenthood and strikes the Hyde Amendment protections.
Additionally, Biden’s bloated budget will worsen the inflation crisis. Inflation is currently at a 40-year high and will cost the average American family $5,200 this year, representing a $433 per month increase in the cost of food, energy, and essential goods.
|
As if rampant spending wasn’t enough, Biden is further destroying our economy through his “anywhere but America” energy strategy. Instead of supporting the Keystone XL Pipeline, issuing new leases for energy production, and expediting permits for pipelines and natural gas exports, Biden recently proposed $45 billion dollars in new taxes on American energy producers.
American natural gas is 42% cleaner than Russian natural gas, but sadly, Biden would rather fund the Kremlin than produce American energy and create American jobs. I introduced legislation to immediately enact a real ban on Russian oil and natural gas, authorize the Keystone XL Pipeline, overturn Biden’s energy leasing ban, expedite approval for energy infrastructure, and get the U.S. back on track to achieve American energy dominance.

Washington Examiner, Lauren Boebert courageously acknowledges Emma Weyant as the NCAA's fastest woman in the 500-yard freestyle “Colorado GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert deserves praise for introducing a House resolution recognizing Emma Weyant as the real winner of the NCAA Division I Women's 500-yard freestyle earlier this month. Weyant had finished second to University of Pennsylvania transgender swimmer Lia Thomas, a man. Weyant was the fastest woman in the race.”
Townhall, House Democrats Block American Energy Again “‘We should restart construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline, overturn Biden's energy leasing moratorium, and expedite permits for pipelines and natural gas exports,’ said Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO). ‘We need the American Energy Independence from Russia Act.’”
KKCO, Rep. Lauren Boebert announces 2022 Congressional Art Competition “‘When deciding the artwork it is about creativity,’ said Congresswoman Lauren Boebert. ‘I think a lot of it has to do with being captivated by the piece…I know there is so much talent in Colorado’s Third District and it’s going to be great to have a little piece of Colorado right here in the U.S. Capitol.’”

Fox News, Lauren Boebert declares runner-up to transgender swimmer Lia Thomas 'rightful winner' “‘I truly believe in giving honor where honor is due and Emma is absolutely worthy of honor,’ said Boebert…Boebert's two-page resolution praises the 20-year-old Weyant as a role model and honors her many accomplishments, including her silver medal at the Tokyo Summer Olympics in the 400-meter individual medley.”
Sean Hannity, DRILL BABY DRILL: Watch Boebert Call for Keystone XL Reboot, Expedited Energy Permits “‘We should restart the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline, overturn Biden’s energy leasing moratorium and expedite permits for pipelines and natural gas exports…The solution is very simple – drill, baby drill,’ Boebert said.”
Vail Daily, Boebert: Delivering conservative victories for rural Colorado I recently secured nine important victories for rural Colorado through the regular, non-earmark process. These include: - $1.74 billion for Community Health Centers to serve rural communities;
- $515 million for the Payments in Lieu of Taxes (PILT) program so counties can fund education, law enforcement, and infrastructure;
- $48 million for the U.S. Forest Service to address the bark beetle infestations ravaging Colorado and to actively manage our forests;
- $1 million to compensate farmers for livestock lost to wolves;
- Important pro-life protections like the Hyde and Weldon amendments;
- Preventing the greater sage-grouse from being listed as an endangered species and locking up our lands;
- Exempting livestock haulers from burdensome Department of Transportation electronic logging device mandates;
- Important federal resources for NASA and Colorado’s space programs; and
- $10 million for the Indian Irrigation Fund to benefit the Southern Ute Tribe and combat drought.
