A faith-based study guide is available for “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,” a new movie starring Tom Hanks as Mister Rogers. Blue Christmas
Not all Christmases are white – some are blue, especially for those who are grieving or experiencing other struggles. The Upper Room suggests that churches prepare to offer hope and healing through a “Blue Christmas” or “Longest Night” worship service this holiday season. You can view an online Blue Christmas video prayer service from The Upper Room with members of your congregation at [link removed] [link removed].
75 Years of Heifer International
Heifer International celebrated 75 years of ministry at Broadway Christian Church in Columbia on November 9. Ardyth Neil, president of Heifer Foundation, was the keynote speaker. Retired Missouri Conference United Methodist Elder Mel West addressed the group from his perspective as one of the original Seagoing Cowboys, an experience that launched his lifelong passion for international mission. Also present were past Missouri Conference Heifer Project coordinators Rev. Cleo Kottwitz and Carol Oliver, and Rev. Max Marble who supported Heifer through his role as director of the Office of Creative Ministries. View the photo album of the event at [link removed] [link removed].
