Russia’s devastating invasion of Ukraine proves that America MUST lead the world in a clean energy transition to stop our dependence on fossil fuels. A clean energy transition will stop dictators like Putin from being able to fund their regimes, their wars, and their atrocities with fossil fuel money, beyond the obvious need to combat climate change.
This war is empowering authoritarian leaders like Vladimir Putin, and other rogue oil-producing nations, to act with impunity knowing that democratic countries depend on their oil and gas to survive. And all the while, price-gouging oil companies are trying to profit from tragedy by hiking up gas prices.
John, if you have a car, I’m sure you’ve seen how much prices have been gouged at the pump in Washington. Right here in Ohio, gas is hovering around $4 a gallon and it’s putting working families across the nation at an even bigger strain.
Signatures will be delivered to the White House and allies in Congress to show widespread popular support for this clear, concise, and popular message. That means that every name on this counts.
