We know that it’s not easy being a Black woman in America. You have to work 10x harder, and be 10x better than everyone else in the room just to be considered half as good.
So even though Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson has an exemplary record of service, is more than qualified to serve on the Supreme Court and is more popular among Americans than any other nominee in recent memory, the Republicans’ still felt the need to attack her experience and her credibility on the national stage. It’s emblematic of what Black women have to go through every day in this country to get ahead and have a seat at the table.
