As you may already know, the Democratic House passed the America COMPETES Act in February – now the House and Senate will begin to negotiate a final agreement in a conference committee:
This historic legislation will lower costs and create jobs by making it easier to produce critical technologies here at home. It will support American workers and help the economy compete and perform at its very best. Notably, this common-sense legislation also provides funding to the domestic semiconductor chip industry, which is one of the worst drivers of inflation today.
Our nation cannot afford to come second place when it comes to manufacturing critical technologies, and the COMPETES Act will take a necessary step forward for American innovation and supremacy in our global economy.
