We’re moving toward the primary with momentum on our side.

John, last week, we wrapped up our first quarter of the election year. Now, my team is hard at work preparing our public fundraising report to send to the Federal Election Commission.

Now, let me explain what to look out for:

4,412 online donors: More than 4,000 supporters chipped in to make our movement stronger, support Democrats up and down the ticket, and assist charitable efforts across the globe. After hitting our grassroots donor goal before the deadline, we’re moving toward the primary with momentum on our side.

1,139 first-time donors: This proves that our movement is still growing, with over 1,000 of you making your first-ever contribution in the past three months. We’ll need to keep reaching and mobilizing Democrats if we want to defend the House majority this year.

Kevin McCarthy’s $31.5 million: It’s not all good news, John. In pursuit of taking back control of Congress, House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy is expected to report having raised more than $31 million in the past three months. Tens of millions of this haul will be funneled into the five districts Republicans need to flip to retake the majority.

We can’t expect to match the GOP and their dark money donors dollar for dollar, but we must be ready to respond to the investments they make — boosting Republican voter turnout and blanketing the airwaves with misinformation and attacks.

Will you rush a donation today to help us keep pace with Republican spending and stay in a strong position to defend our progress? It’ll take all of us to overcome the GOP’s campaign war chest and defend the House majority this November.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Whether you made a donation to our campaign or even just opened emails like this one to stay up to date with my work in Washington, I’m so grateful to have you on the team. It’s only because of you that we’re in a strong position to defend our progress and defeat the GOP this year.

In solidarity,

Barbara Lee
