A study released last Friday by the journal Science Advances found that global warming is greatly increasing the chance that heavy rainfall will follow extreme wildfires in the American West.

If you live in Western states, you have already seen this and are very much aware of the devastation these two disasters cause in California, Colorado, and the Pacific Northwest.

Reports such as this continue to bring this point home: We need bold climate change policy, and friends, that will only occur if Democrats are in control of Congress.

Under Democratic leadership, the House created the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis, a committee that includes two Future Forum members from climate devastated states: Mike Levin (CA-49) and Joe Neguse (CO-02).

In addition to the committee, our members have led several efforts urging the Senate to pass all urgent climate bills already passed by the House since Democrats were elected to the majority in November 2018.

But some of those members on the forefront are under constant attack by the GOP for their climate policies. Rep. Mike Levin, a DCCC frontliner and Republican target in this year’s midterms, is one of them. Friends, our planet can’t afford to lose a climate champion like Rep. Mike Levin in the House. Will you chip in whatever you can today and protect the planet from Republican obstruction?
