Children can’t reach for bright futures on empty stomachs.  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Save the Children Action Network is the political voice for kids.

For far too many children across the U.S., school, afterschool and summer meal programs are the only reliable source of nutritious food. Tell Congress: if we let program flexibilities expire, millions of children may go hungry as early as this summer.

Hi John,

Lunch time… it’s every kid’s favorite subject!

But school meals are more than just a chance to snack and catch up with friends – they provide essential nutrition for growing minds and bodies.

When the pandemic plunged millions more families into food insecurity, child nutrition waivers allowed schools and summer meal programs to stay afloat and serve hungry children.

These program flexibilities help providers cope with the rising cost of food, supply chain issues and labor shortages and allow for meals to be delivered in creative ways that reach more kids in need. But they’re set to expire this June – right in the middle of summer service – and countless children will lose access to nutritious food.

Send a message to your members of Congress: pass the Support Kids Not Red Tape Act to extend child nutrition waivers and keep kids fed!

John, this legislation comes at an urgent time as nearly 12 million kids in the U.S. face the daily reality of hunger. If program flexibilities end in June, parents and families will be blindsided – and too many children may have nowhere to go for nutritious meals this summer and next school year.

The Support Kids Not Red Tape Act would extend child nutrition waivers to September 30, 2023. This would ensure schools, child care providers and summer meal programs can keep kids fed as they transition to normalcy – and help children prepare for the bright futures that lay ahead.

Every kid deserves to grow up well-nourished. Urge Congress to pass the Support Kids Not Red Tape Act so children in need can continue to access nutritious food all year round.

Thank you for being a voice for kids,
