Dear John,

Today, DC Jobs With Justice got loud in solidarity with the striking ATU 689 members at Cinder Bed Road. At today's WMATA board meeting, Cinder Bed Road drivers took their concerns directly to Paul Wiedefeldand the whole WMATA board. Workers called on them to use their leverage over Transdev to end a strike that is on it's 29th day. Strikers currently have no health insurance. They are risking eviction. Over a dozen members told their stories.

Rather than let the meeting go on as usual, I joined our friends at Sunrise DC and Metro DSA in disrupting the board meeting. Watch video here. (Start at 45:10 for the action, but watch for all the moving stories.)

Equal Pay = Equal Work
WMATA is responsible for Cinder Bed Road * End privatization * Fair contract now

Cinder Bed Road strikers and ATU 689 members are fired up at the lack of action by WMATA. WMATA can force Transdev to bargain in good faith, or move the jobs in-house.

We're not done supporting the strikers at Cinder Bed Road, and we know you aren't either.

Join the picket.
Give to the strike fund.
Educate riders.

Your contribution helps us be there for workers when they need us. As the year comes to an end, please give to DC Jobs With Justice so we can keep fighting back with local workers.

In solidarity,

Elizabeth Falcon
