John,

I'm off at a meeting about banks and climate change--we're trying to
figure out how to build on the success of the divestment campaign and
interrupt the flow of money to the fossil fuel industry. Fighting the bad
guys is what we do.

But sometimes amidst that work it's easy to lose sight of what we're
working for. I wrote this piece with my colleague Tamara Toles O'Laughlin,
who runs 350's North America work. It talks about our vision for the
future, which includes taking care of those people and communities hit
hardest by the climate crisis. I think 'climate reparations' is a term
we'll hear a lot of going forward, and I wanted you to read this early
account of what it means.

O'Laughlin about why Big Oil needs to pay for the harm done to our
communities and climate. Then, share it with your friends and network to
help us popularize this idea.

And I wanted to say thanks to you for helping make this vision of a new
world plausible, with all your hard work. On we go!
