Team,
Today, Ilhan introduced a bill to create a new vision for what public and affordable housing should look like in the 21st century.
HuffPost called it "arguably the most ambitious Green New Deal policy unveiled since the movement for a sweeping industrial plan to shrink climate-changing emissions and expand protections for the poor went mainstream a year ago."
We'll dive into the details of the bill in a minute. But first, will you chip in to Ilhan's reelection campaign so she can continue to be a strong voice for progressive reforms in Congress?

In one of the richest countries in the world, more than half a million people shouldn't be homeless on any given night. 12 million households shouldn't be paying more than half of their annual income on housing.
The Homes for All Act recognizes housing as a human right. Here's what this legislation will do for housing in America:
-Invest $1 trillion in the U.S. affordable housing market with the goal of creating 12 million new public and affordable housing units over a decade.
-Make public housing funding mandatory, ensuring that current and future public housing needs are met and won't be cut if there's a budget crisis or a change in administrations.
-Ban discrimination against residents based on sexual orientation, gender, criminal history, or immigration status.
-Design, build, and operate housing according to the highest possible environmental standard, prioritizing minimizing energy costs and achieving carbon neutrality.

No matter where we live in this country, housing is one issue that unites us. Together, we're going to end this nation's housing crisis once and for all.
Thank you,
