Health Equity Reading Recommendations

Community Health Workers In Action proposes support and expansion of the role of community health workers in meeting the health needs of marginalized groups in the United States, exploring the ways in which historical contexts, socio-cultural factors, and values play a critical role in shaping a worldview of the right to quality care.

Advancing Health Literacy addresses the crisis in health literacy in the United States and around the world. This book thoroughly examines the critical role of literacy in public health and outlines a practical, effective model that bridges the gap between health education, health promotion, and health communication.

Made to Save is a national education and grassroots campaign working to save lives by increasing COVID-19 vaccine access and empowering community-based organizations to run outreach programs that increase vaccination rates in communities too often left behind by our public health system. Resources available in English and Spanish.

Latinx Therapy aims to destigmatize mental health, and provide culturally-grounded workshops and services to the Latinx community. The site provides an extensive list of bilingual mental health resources, courses/workshops and a national directory to find a Latinx therapist (98% are Spanish speakers).
