Team,
This is an email about Deb McGrath. (Yes, she has a wonderful name.) (No, we’re not related.)
Deb is running for Congress in Wisconsin’s Third District, a seat that Republicans are gunning for. The Democratic incumbent, Rep. Ron Kind, won re-election in 2020 by just 2 percent. Now that he’s retiring, the seat is truly up for grabs.
Here’s the kicker: The Republican running for this seat (and who narrowly lost two years ago) was part of the mob on Capitol Hill on January 6th. Seriously.
This race could be a tipping point. Just imagine if an insurrectionist flips this seat and gives the House majority to Republicans — if people like us don’t stand up, it could easily happen. Will you chip in a donation right now to help elect my fellow McGrath?
This might sound familiar, but Deb has a long history of service. She served our country, first as an Army captain and later as a CIA officer. She’s sworn an oath to defend the Constitution, and we need more people who understand what that oath means serving in the halls of Congress.
Her father served in the Wisconsin legislature and in Congress, so Deb knows that being a candidate is no cakewalk. She raised her hand to run anyway, because like all of us, she knows what’s at stake right now. Our democracy hangs in the balance —there’s no sitting this one out.
I know I’ve asked you to chip in to support a McGrath campaign in the past. I don’t support all candidates with my last name — just the ones who truly deserve to serve in Congress (and who are standing in the way of an insurrectionist getting the job).
Make a donation today and let’s elect Deb McGrath to Congress.
Thank you,
Amy (the other McGrath)
