The Senate is expected to vote this week on the historic nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court of the United States. Her confirmation is essential to ensuring that the highest court in the land better represents the American people. But she is facing an extremist opposition bent on securing a radical pro-gun majority on the Supreme Court.

Judge Jackson, who is President Biden’s nominee to replace retiring Justice Steven Breyer, is eminently qualified. If confirmed, she will be the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court and the first public defender. Her lived experiences and deep commitment to equal justice make her uniquely qualified to serve as a Supreme Court justice.
