Today is NPCA's annual Capitol Hill Day -- when park advocates from
across the country are meeting with their elected leaders in Congress.
And as much as we'd love all of you to be in Washington, DC, with us
right now, we know that is not possible. But your voice and concerns
about our parks can still be heard.

A recent NPCA poll found that across the political spectrum, an
overwhelming 88% or nearly 9 out of 10 Americans say climate change is
negatively impacting America's national parks. All units within the
National Park System are vulnerable to climate change, putting park
visitors and employees, wildlife and nature, irreplaceable landscapes,
historical artifacts and sites, and local communities in jeopardy.

Demand Congress pass a comprehensive climate bill that promotes clean
energy over fossil fuels and prepares our parks and public lands for
rising temperatures and extreme weather.

The need is urgent. Long-term droughts, melting ice caps, raging
wildfires, epic floods and stronger and more frequent storms are
already threatening our national parks. Everglades National Park is
threatened by both rising sea levels 26 inches projected by 2050 and
drought. Yosemite, Glacier and Rocky Mountain National Parks have seen
an increase in wildfires that is predicted to grow by 200% or more by
2050. Mount Rainier National Park's glaciers are melting at six times
their historic rate.

Congress must pass a comprehensive climate bill that helps halt the
climate crisis, adapt to the current realities, and incentivize and
increase the use of renewable energy. Send your message now!

Our national parks are warming at twice the rate as the rest of the
country. We can't afford to wait. I urge you to take action on climate
now.
