Recent polls show that at least 83% of Americans support the U.S. government negotiating with pharmaceutical companies to lower drug prices. Why is it so hard to turn this hugely popular policy into law?
The short answer: Big Pharma is one of the most powerful lobbies in Washington. And with Democrats’ razor-thin majorities, they only need a few politicians on their payroll. Just look at the members of Congress blocking drug pricing reform — practically all of them have taken tens of thousands from Big Pharma.
Since launching our first campaign for Congress, Ro’s refused to take a single penny from PACs or lobbyists. That’s why we’re at the forefront of the fight for drug pricing reform and other popular progressive policies.
