Dear Friend,
It's hard to believe that in just five weeks we'll be gathered together for our first in-person conference in two years -- and my very first Ruth's List annual event! COVID has changed so much of our lives, and I've missed the energy and excitement of coming together and knowing we're make a long-lasting impact on the political landscape in Florida.
The opportunity to bring together elected officials, candidates, regional leaders, donors, allies, and volunteers from diverse backgrounds and experiences across Florida in one location for a weekend of learning and networking is a truly an honor. Our team has been hard at work to bring you riveting panel discussions and top-notch keynote speakers.
The conference kicks off with a welcome reception hosted by Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava on the evening of Friday, May 13th. Our agenda on Saturday May 14th is chock full of panels and plenary sessions -- including Florida's female gubernatorial candidates, Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried and State Senator Annette Taddeo. We'll wrap up with a closing reception sponsored by Senate Minority Leader Lauren Book. I know we're all feeling the weight of this past legislative session and it's hard not to get discouraged. But watching the conference registrations roll in gives me so much hope. We're in this together for the long haul, and we're going to create lasting change in Florida, one woman at a time!
I look forward to seeing you in Orlando! Onward, |

Our April training calendar is packed with exciting opportunities to learn How to Make a Winning Field Plan (April 7), How to Engage Labor Partners (April 19), and Building Your Volunteer Army (April 28). Check out the full schedule on our website and apply to attend one of our April virtual trainings here.
We're thrilled with the response to our 2022 training program and the incredible feedback from participants. Reminder that space is limited and "seats" are on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible. Can't make the training but know someone who might be interested? Forward this email to them! |

Ruth's List continues to roll out endorsements as we gear up for the 2022 midterms. We're excited to lend our early support to the following candidates: |
|
|
Joy Goff-Marcil Senate District 10
This is Ruth’s List third endorsement for Joy, and we’re excited to see her in the race for SD 10. Joy is a tough campaigner, having flipped her state house seat from red to blue in 2018, and winning again in 2020. She has a solid record of accomplishment on behalf of Central Florida, first as a member of the Maitland City Council, then as vice mayor, and most recently a state representative. SD 10 one of the most important flip opportunities in the state senate this cycle. Your early support will ensure she has the resources she needs to win. Donate here.

| Ashley Gantt House District 109
Ashley is challenging incumbent Representative James Bush, an anti-choice Democrat and career politician who was the only Democrat in the entire legislature to vote in favor of the bill to ban abortion after 15 weeks with no exceptions for rape or incest that now sits on the Governor’s desk. We could not be more excited to see Ashley enter this race. A native of Miami, Ashley is an attorney and small business owner, a former public defender, and a former Miami-Dade public school teacher. She will be a true representative for her constituents and will work to solve problems for her district, increasing access to affordable housing, improving public education, and reforming our criminal justice system. Join us in making an early contribution to her campaign by donating here.

Katie Abbott Village of Pinecrest Council Katie is the Vice Mayor of Pinecrest Village, and a Ruth’s List alumna, having received our support in her previous race for the council seat in 2018.
In addition to serving on the council, she is a tireless advocate for the community. Katie holds board positions on Friends of Pinecrest Gardens and the Pinecrest City Music Project, is the co-coordinator of Pinecrest's Youth Advisory Council, and the co-coordinator for her neighborhood's Crime Watch group. With Katie’s re-election, Pinecrest will maintain a female-majority council. Donate here to help her win!
