The Ohio Supreme Court struck down three versions of Republican gerrymandered state legislative maps. But now a fourth map has been approved by Republicans on the Ohio Redistricting Commission in a 4-3 vote.

Ohio Republicans have blatantly ignored the maps created in the public eye and have disregarded the voices of Ohioans who want fair representation and to end gerrymandering.

When Democrats take one step forward, the GOP is only interested in taking three steps back.

Let’s be clear: Republicans are failing to do their job by directly opposing the will of Ohioans to pass fair maps. The revised haphazard maps presented by the GOP – still – do not attempt to consider the majority of hard-working Ohioans who want to end gerrymandering and unconstitutional redistricting.

Governor DeWine and Secretary LaRose can’t continue to get away with approving maps that benefit them – and only them.
