John,
When even Fox News holds Republicans accountable for a bad tax plan, you know it must be really bad.[1]
Senator Rick Scott (R-FL), the chairman of the GOP’s Senate election committee, has introduced a plan that would raise taxes on 100 million low- to middle-income Americans while also allowing Social Security and Medicare to sunset in just 5 years.[2]
We’re fighting back against Republicans’ bad plan and fighting for President Biden’s budget that taxes wealth like work by creating a billionaires income tax to unrig our tax system and lower costs for working people.
Click here to watch Fox News host John Roberts eviscerate Rick Scott’s tax plan, then pitch in today to bring our latest video to millions of people and fight to unrig our tax code so that the rich and corporations start paying their fair share.
Rick Scott doesn’t just propose raising taxes on 100 million low- and middle-income Americans; he also makes it easier for millionaires and billionaires to continue dodging $160 billion in taxes that they already owe each year[3] by gutting IRS funding by 50%.[4]
Senate Republicans have made it all too clear: They don’t care about the economic security, health, or dignity of seniors or working people. Their goal is to continue consolidating wealth and power among an elite few while doing away with critical social programs that lift up the majority of Americans.
Check out our latest video, which contrasts Rick Scott’s bad tax plan against President Biden’s plan to tax wealth like work. Then pitch in today!
Thank you for fighting for a tax system and economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few.
