For too long, our city government has let Entergy buy off our elected officials through corrupt campaign contributions. These contributions have granted Entergy control of the very officials tasked with regulating our power utility - but together we can put a stop to it. This Thursday, April 7th, demand that the City Council pass Ordinance 33,637 to ban local campaign contributions from Entergy once and for all.
Before the Council votes on this crucial measure to bring basic ethics into our city government, we need you to tell your councilmembers that you support Ordinance 33,637. You can find your councilmembers’ contact information here. Every city resident is represented by 3 councilmembers: At-Large members Helena Moreno and JP Morell, as well as their district councilmember. You can find out what district you’re in here. Please contact them by phone, email, and/or social media to let them know you think it’s time to get Entergy’s money and influence out of City Hall. Find sample social media posts, graphics, and a sample message here!
And if you’re able to attend the City Council meeting at 10AM on Thursday, April 7th please join us to make comments in person! Please fill out this form to let us know that we’ll be seeing you there.
Sincerely,
New Orleans DSA Local Council
