John,
On Saturday night, six people were murdered and 12 others were injured in a mass shooting at a nightclub in Sacramento, CA. So many lives were devastated in an instant, and it’s unfortunately not new to any of us.
|
On Sunday, before the game, we held a moment of silence. I think it’s the right thing to do, but I’ll be honest – it’s the ninth or 10th moment of silence that I will have experienced as the coach of the Warriors, mourning the losses of people who have died in mass shootings.
|
But it’s not the moments of silence that are going to do anything, John – it’s the lifesaving action that our lawmakers can take right now to pass common sense gun laws. I’m sick of watching more communities feel the grief that far too many have before them, grief that I felt personally when my father was shot and killed.
|
The moment of silence has passed and we have to take action. Brady is fighting tooth and nail to pass gun violence prevention laws and finally save lives – but we desperately need you with us. That’s why I’m coming to you, John, and asking you to step up: Will you donate today and help us protect communities from further tragedy?

Now is the time to act. It’s time to save lives. It’s time to stop this unimaginable grief.
Thank you,
Coach Steve Kerr, Golden State Warriors
Gun Violence Survivor
