Dear Friend, Being a parent is hard, even in the best of circumstances. And in this country, being a Black mother to Black children comes with its own set of challenges. More than ever, Black women and mothers need kinship, and support, but may feel excluded from parenting resources that aren’t inclusive of them and their stories. Enter Akina: the premier hub for Black mothers and women who are eagerly searching for community, connection, and information resulting in better outcomes for their children. On this week’s episode of Revolutionary Faith, I’ll speak with Leigh Butler, Akina Founder, and Stephanie Roberts, Co-Founder. We’ll discuss the revolutionary faith that emerges from building a strong community of moms and a better world for their children. |
