<<<<STAND WITH OUR BIPARTISAN HOUSE AND SENATE ALLIES>>>> Friend, In a time of intense global peril and uncertainty, with a nuclear power on the march in Europe and terrorism a threat around the world, the Biden administration is rushing toward a risky reinstatement of the flawed Iran nuclear deal. Without deliberation or congressional consultation, the administration is trying to restore a deal with a dangerous rogue state that could aid its long-term nuclear ambitions and allow it to fund its terrorist activities with oil revenue after sanctions are lifted. Senators and representatives of both parties are calling on President Biden to slow down and engage in bipartisan consultations. “We must not forget where money will be funneled if terrorist sanctions are lifted on Iran. Iran’s nuclear program and terrorist activities are not only regionally focused in the Middle East with Hezbollah, Hamas, and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, but also across the rest of the world,” said House Problem Solvers Caucus Co-chair Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ). He and 20 other House members of both parties have called on President Biden to publicly address their concerns. Some Democratic senators have expressed concerns as well, including many who have been starkly critical of Iran in the past. They will be the key to determining if a new Iran deal is jammed through, or whether elected representatives will have a chance to weigh in. |
