As Mayor of Phoenix, I was a passionate advocate of LGBTQ rights. After passing our Non-Discrimination Ordinance, Phoenix has consistently scored a "100" (on a scale of 0-100) on the Human Rights Campaign's equality index.

That's why it's gut-wrenching to see the anti-gay and anti-trans bills being passed in states across the country, including here at home in Arizona.

No kid should ever be ashamed of who they are. The Senate MUST pass the EQUALITY Act so we can protect our LGBTQ community across the nation.
