Friend,

After their racist behavior at Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s hearings last month, it’s no surprise that our Texas Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn voted against advancing her confirmation today.

Friend, Judge Jackson would be one of the most qualified Justices to join the bench in years. So with no good explanation to vote against her other than racism, Texas Republicans have proven yet again that they don’t deserve to lead our state.

Texans deserve real leaders. Not extremist politicians who are stuck in the past and refuse to embrace progress when it’s staring them in the face.

Racists don’t deserve to be in the Senate, Congress, or any level of government for that matter. So Friend, will you chip in $7 to show Texas Republicans that we’re tired of their BS?

Chip in now: [link removed]

Despite our Senators voting no today, I still believe that the first Black woman to serve in our highest court will be confirmed by the end of the week. No thanks to Republicans. Democrats will be the ones to deliver on this historic victory, and I can’t wait to celebrate that moment with you.

In service and hope,
