Thank you all so much for your donations and support ahead of our first end of quarter deadline last week. Standing up for progressive values can be unpopular, so I’m relying on grassroots donors like yourself to power my organizing efforts.

While we’re on the subject of standing up for progressive values, I also wanted to make sure you saw this news:

The New York City Retirement System, the fourth largest pension fund in the United States, took bold, historic action to divest from Russian securities in solidarity with Ukraine.

New York City joined the cry for peace in Ukraine as we’ve seen millions of people displaced and families torn apart. Here in NYC, it feels hard to take meaningful action while watching such unnecessary violence, displacement and trauma unfold. I’m proud of the bold steps New York City and our retirement systems are taking to express solidarity with the people of Ukraine and protect the long term value of our portfolio.

Big change happens through a lot of small fights, and I am proud to be part of a New York City that doesn't shy away from doing what is right.

In Solidarity,
Brad
