If we sent you a book full of the harmful things Republicans have said and done over the past few years, it wouldn’t even scratch the surface. So, to be respectful of your time, we’ll share what they’ve been up to most recently. And then, if you have a few moments, please weigh in on which Republicans you’re most ready to unseat this year.
1️⃣ Gov. DeSantis and “Don’t Say Gay” Bill
Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis just signed HB1557 into law, commonly known as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. This is just another example of the GOP trying to score political points at the expense of vulnerable kids and their families.
2️⃣ Sen. Scott’s Disastrous Tax Plan
Republican Senator Rick Scott released a plan to raise taxes for half of Americans and sunset Social Security and Medicare in five years. This comes after saying that higher costs for families were a "gold mine” just last year.
3️⃣ Sen. Johnson’s Comments on Americans’ Health Care
Senator Ron Johnson said the Affordable Care Act, which millions of Americans rely on for health insurance, should be repealed. Doing this could increase the cost of health care and jeopardize protections for millions of folks with preexisting conditions. When it comes to the American people, Republicans would rather gut protections and send health care premiums skyrocketing than lower costs for their constituents.
This is only a fraction of what Republicans have been up to this year, but it’s proof of just how dangerous things would be if they take back power this November.
