Anti-Semitism is becoming more prevalent around the world, and purveyors of anti-Semitic hate are becoming more emboldened. To help better understand and combat these trends, ADL commissioned the

ADL Global 100: An Index of Anti-Semitism (R), the premier survey of anti-Semitic attitudes around the world, starting in 2014. Today we announced an update to the
[link removed]
ADL Global 100 Index at our annual Never Is Now Summit on anti-Semitism and Hate. I want to be sure you are among the first to have access to this vital information, as this global data helps inform about emerging trends in anti-Semitism.

The new results are troubling, to say the least, and point to our need to remain vigilant in standing up to anti-Semitism.

Among the most concerning trends the poll illustrated is that anti-Semitic attitudes in Eastern Europe, South Africa and South America have seen a marked increase in the last four years.

Specifically, the poll found:

- One in four Europeans polled subscribe to most of the anti-Semitic stereotypes tested.
- Stereotypes about Jewish control of business and the financial markets are among the most pernicious and enduring anti-Semitic beliefs.
- The falsehood of Jewish disloyalty/dual loyalty is widespread across Europe.
- 40% or more of respondents in 10 of the 18 countries polled thought “Jews still talk too much about what happened to them in the Holocaust.”
ADL explored other issues of concern in the survey, and among the poll’s more encouraging results were the extremely low support for the campaign of boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israel, and the widespread support for social media reform to combat online harassment.

Understanding which anti-Semitic stereotypes are most pervasive is crucial to countering this global phenomenon. The data collected by the

ADL Global 100 Index enables governments, Jewish communities and others to assess the attitudes of national populations, allowing policymakers and other stakeholders, like ADL, to better target educational practices and other means to address intolerance.
