** Create a Campaign Around CERD Review to Realize Indigenous Rights
------------------------------------------------------------
The International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) is a legally binding United Nations convention. The convention was ratified by the United States on October 21, 1994. The Convention is monitored by the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD).

Come learn about the Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) and how it can aid in your advocacy efforts and put pressure on the U.S. government to respect Indigenous Peoples’ rights. We invite Tribal members in preparation for the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination’s Review of the United States in August 2022.

Joshua Cooper, a professor at the University of Hawai’i, West Oahu, Kapolei, and Director of the Hawai’i Institute for Human Rights and Monica Coc Magnusson (Q'eqchi Maya), Cultural Survival Director of Advocacy and Policy will lead the training and guide Tribal members in preparing reports for submission to the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
