Continue to live safely with Covid-19
Living with covid
Covid-19 is still present in our city ? and so we must continue to take care of ourselves and each other. There are actions we can all take to help reduce the risk of catching Covid-19 and passing it on to others. These actions will also help to reduce the spread of other respiratory infections, such as flu, which can spread easily and may cause serious illness in some people.
This is important because you will not always know whether someone you come into contact with is at higher risk of becoming seriously ill from respiratory infections. They could be people you sit next to on public transport or people you may have regular contact with, such as friends and work colleagues.
There are simple things you can do in your daily life that will help reduce the spread of Covid-19 and other respiratory infections:
* *Get vaccinated:* Please get every Covid jab available to you, depending on your age and health. Most adults can get two jabs and a booster. Young people can get two jabs ? while those who are over 75 or clinically vulnerable can now get an additional fourth booster. It?s not too late to have the vaccine or even to get your first jab. Book your jab here: nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19 [ [link removed] ]
* *Everyday behaviour: *Keep applying the everyday behaviour we learned during the pandemic: regularly wash your hands, keep indoor spaces well-ventilated, meet other people outdoors. You can still choose to wear a face covering when you are inside busy public spaces or coming into contact with people you do not normally meet.
* *Stay at home if you have symptoms: *If you feel unwell and have symptoms you should consider how best to avoid spreading infection to other people. Think about who you might come into contact with? and whether you might be putting them at risk? Stay at home to reduce the spread of germs and viruses in the same way that you would with other illness, such as norovirus or flu. Don?t forget the basics of good hygiene like covering our mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing.
More information about Covid-19 symptoms and safe behaviours can be found on the NHS website here [ [link removed] ].
