Write for Rights 2019
A few days ago, I emailed you about two volunteer rescuers who are facing 25 years in jail for helping refugees in Greece. Sarah and Seán were working with a search-and-rescue organisation in Lesvos in 2018 when they were arrested and charged with spying, people smuggling and belonging to a criminal organisation.
Helping people in need is not a crime. Will you stand with Sarah and Seán and demand these bogus charges be dropped immediately?
Yes, I will
‘Humanitarian work isn’t criminal, nor is it heroic… Helping others should be absolutely normal.’
- Seán Binder
Greece has got this all wrong - instead of jailing people for saving lives, they should be doing more to protect the rights of refugees.
Together we can fight this horrible injustice. Please will you help by emailing Greece now?
