President Trump first implemented this policy in March 2020 — taking advantage of the global pandemic as a pathetic excuse to stop people from seeking asylum.
So when President Biden initially upheld the Title 42 policy, we wasted no time taking action — leveraging our organizing power to defeat this policy rooted in racist, xenophobic origins.
Only through our collective power were we able to move the needle forward on our demands and hold President Biden accountable to the promises he made to protect immigrant communities.

Now, our mission shifts focus to ensuring the Biden administration doesn’t use this as an opportunity to dump more money into funding the deportation machine and increasing detentions.
