Dear John
Did you know that there are now around 10,000 political prisoners in Burma?
21^st April is Blue Shirt Day - people all over the world will be wearing blue in solidarity with Burmese activists jailed for supporting human rights and democracy.
Every day more people in Burma are arrested. Some are never heard of again.
The annual Blue Shirt Day is an opportunity to make sure that they are not forgotten, and that pressure is kept up for their release.
On the day, people will wear blue and post pictures on social media to raise awareness and call for the release of all political prisoners in Burma. Blue is the colour of a prison uniform in Burma.
This year, you can buy one of our Free Political Prisoners blue t-shirts to wear on Blue Shirt Day.
Order yours here today to make sure you receive it in time. ([link removed])

Since the military coup last year:
* Over 13,000 people have been arrested and more than 9900 political prisoners are currently in jail. Many are detained in unknown locations and have not been able to see their families.
* There are alarming reports of rapes, assaults and sexual harassment of men, women, and members of the LGBT community in detention centres.
* Political Prisoners do not receive medical attention, and there are cases of torture and harsh treatment inside prisons.
* CCTVs are being set up inside prison, including in the women’s quarters, with 24-hour supervision, which violates the security and privacy of political prisoners.
The first step towards increasing pressuring for the release of all political prisoners is to raise awareness about it. That’s why this day is so important.
Order your t-shirt today and get ready for Blue Shirt Day on 21st April to let people know that political prisoners in Burma need our support. ([link removed])
