Dear ,

When I started The Hometown Project to encourage people of recognition to support local candidates in their hometown elections, I discovered the Center for Popular Democracy (CPD) and was immediately impressed by the breadth and depth of the cutting edge work this grassroots network of organizers is doing.

CPD’s work is critical to winning progressive change, and I’m honored to join the host committee for [The Guiding Light Awards on December 3 in New York City!]([link removed]) This event is an opportunity for us to lift up the voices of our communities and continue building the strong, national movement for change we need now more than ever.

[Will you join me to support CPD? Tickets start at $250.]([link removed])

[It’s going to be an incredible evening as we recognize our guiding lights]([link removed]): individuals, campaigns and organizations that are energizing our movement and doing the real work fighting for our democracy. This year, we are honoring:

The last three years have been deeply troubling for American democracy. From pervasive voter suppression to inhumane policies that separate children from their families, it has never been clearer that we are living in a system where the rules are rigged to silence the truth, and fear is nurtured to keep us divided.

From door-knocking to protesting and marching; from speaking at community board meetings to ensuring legal deportation defense for immigrants; even training people to hold their elected officials accountable–the CPD Network is on the frontlines of the issues that impact all of us.

I hope you’ll support the CPD Network—53 affiliates across 131 cities in 34 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia—to empower and activate the communities most impacted by injustice and inequity. [Please join me on December 3rd!]([link removed])
