Growing up, Maggie Hassan didn't set out to become one of the first women in American history ever elected both Governor and Senator.

But even as a child, standing up for what's right was important to Maggie. Her father, a WWII veteran who survived the Battle of the Bulge, used to ask her, "What are you doing for freedom today?"

Inspired by her father, she strives every day to make our democracy stronger, ensure everyone is included in our country's success — and advance the cause of freedom. 

And now, she's running for reelection in a pretty important race – one that very well could decide which party controls the Senate for the next two years.
