I have just returned from the Medyka border crossing in Poland. I had the opportunity to meet with Mercy Corps team members who have been on the ground responding since the early days of the Ukraine conflict, and to meet people who are having to flee their homes.
As families crossed the border, I saw fatigue on their faces as they piled what little belongings they had been able to bring into shopping carts to make the next leg of their journey less burdensome. I talked to mothers as they collected food and baby supplies for their children and figured out where to go next.
While the hardships facing the millions of people fleeing conflict in Ukraine are heartbreaking, I am inspired by the dedication of our team members and local partners, the strength of the people of Ukraine, and the generosity of supporters like you.

We have a long road ahead to help families endure this crisis. Mercy Corps will remain in Ukraine and surrounding communities to help as many families as possible.
